Accuracy of mode-identification from line-profile variations

L=3 M=-3 L=3 M=-3L=4 M=-3

  It is inherently difficult to distinguish L,M from L+1,M

  Inclusion of temperature effects (variations of equivalent width and surface brightness) may be important for certain cases

  For many mode-IDs done sofar, the accuracy was limited due to imperfect data sampling and limited S/N, not due to intrinsic limitations of the spectroscopic mode-ID methods

  We can derive L,M with accuracy +/-1 or better !
